Introducing a new song to a group

A contradictory pair of suggestions:

• If a group doesn't relate to a song, don't do it.
  
• However, some songs grow on a group and once they've sung it enough times it becomes “We've always done it” and then they'll keep it. Make sure such songs are worth the struggle.
